Dashboard
Measure & succeed with results
Our Formative Evaluation Dashboard tracks each student’s progress toward reading comprehension—one story at a time.
"Intervention for struggling readers is effective only when it addresses the student’s specific weakness."
Gough and Tunmer, Simple View of Reading
Assess mastery of language skills across all modalities
Our Formative Evaluation Dashboard provides insights into each student’s unique challenges and capabilities:
- Vocabulary reports the student’s understanding of key words introduced in each story;
- Listening comprehension identifies how well the student can understand and infer meaning;
- Reading comprehension reports on how well the student can comprehend written text;
- Speaking offers three opportunities to orally demonstrate depth of knowledge & reading fluency;
- Writing offers three additional opportunities further demonstrate comprehension through writing skills.
Monitor progress by class, cohort, or individual student
- Track most recent activity: This view enables teachers to look at individual student activity at-a-glance to determine who is working, for how long, and gain immediate insights into comprehension outcomes.
- Track stories assigned. This view allows teachers to look at how students are doing relative to one another.
- Track class or cohort as a whole. This view provides an overview of the general reading level and time spent reading for the class or designated cohort over time.
Identify students who are at risk of falling behind
- Comprehension scores are immediately reported in real time. The Dashboard instantly displays summary outcomes for Vocabulary, Listening and Reading comprehension in three color codes (green, yellow, red). This makes it easy to identify students who are excelling or falling behind.
- Spoken and written expression can be immediately reviewed and graded by the teacher directly in the dashboard and then automatically included in the student’s overall report.

Create and print instant reports to show student progress
- We provide “instant” downloadable reports that are current and easy to understand by students or parents.
-
Printable reports intentionally only cover:
1) How many stories the student read and how many points they received for each story; and,
2) Overall comprehension for each story based on a combined score of vocabulary, listening and reading. - Speaking and writing outcomes, if relevant, are reported in greater detail after teacher review.
